Jim Hocking Skye King Bay 300x168 charity:water ABCs 20/20 With The Bayaka Of Central Africa Republic On Monday December 13th I was amongst the 1400 people who showed up at the 5th Charity Water Ball in NYC. What transpired in less than 30 minutes was founder Scott Harrison with Adrian Grenier and Jim Hocking CEO of ICDI combine their love and vision to bring clean water to the 19,000 Bayaka people in Central Africa Republic and they did it.

ICDI Director “Growing up in the Central African Republic and then raising my own family there has provided me with the opportunity to learn and understand intimately this culture and country. I have observed the deterioration economically, politically, and socially over the past ten years of strife and civil war. Watching people lose hope completely was devastating because I see so much potential in the people and resources of this country. ICDI provides the tools needed to equip Central Africans as they implement ideas that can change their world. We have seen God work in awesome ways through the Central Africans working with ICDI and hope to empower even more nationals. Conflict continues in the country, limiting access to some areas of the country for expatriates, so training Central Africans is a key part of ICDI’s strategy.” – Jim Hocking

The Things We Think and Do Not Say

How is it that we go from knowing exactly what we want in life, to changing into some other behavior and form, subjugated to the circumstances that make up our reality? Most college and university students buy their time not exactly sure what they want as a career, not knowing that they have options and choice. Only to realize 2-4 years later 20-100K in debt that their education might not be what they truly desire and that they have no experience in their field to even qualify for a position?

I recently put out a call for a 6 month internship position in our company. The response was great, but what I saw in the college and university students was a pattern, indecisiveness, not  a lot of follow through and when given specific instruction of how to apply, 80% did not follow the straight forward details. This got me thinking out of the 20 people who applied, I accepted 4, out of the 4, two are the lucky ones who will get a $10,000 training program, an excellent referral and hands on experience that may lead to a full time paying position. How this relates to Jerry McGuire and his breakthrough by having a breakdown? Don’t wait for someone to show up to give you the golden key….stay focus and go out and get what you want out of life. If you have absolutely no experience in a field that you would love to be in, step out and show up, ask companies to take you on as an Intern and to provide you with a referral after the said time.

If you are older and would like to change career, the same applies to you. Do not let yourself fester in a dead end job because you believe you must pay the bills and support yourself or your family, I’m not saying don’t be realistic, but don’t give in to the mainstream conundrum of sheer boredom and loss of personal freedom due to some structure which keeps you limited.

Take a look at my youtube channel and discover how successful entrepreneurs changed their mindset, got out of corporate America and are now living the life of their dreams, by helping others and being of service. Do what serves you and you will see the results in how you live your life.

Hockey Is Really Not A Game For Men!

Former New York Rangers

It’s actually a game for winners and losers, depending on the structure the team synergy and the coach, you’ve got a 50-50 chance to make it big or go home. Last night for my Father’s birthday I bought 2 tickets to the Toronto Maple Leafs VS NY Rangers, we used to watch the games religiously together when I was a kid.

The first period I could not help but comment on the sheer laziness of the team, no focus or core directness, just passing the puck around and no one really taking the lead to shoot the damn puck into the net-the object of the game, to win. At one point as I watched it felt like a group of boys were playing toss the ball in the courtyard of their high school playground, boring.

I leaned over and commented to my Dad, “why are they playing so lazy when the other team is killing it?” My Father replied, “Don’t know, they’re just playing a crappy game.” That is when my deeper perspective of the larger whole hit in, my Marketing Mind took over: the Leafs were relying on each other for support and working off of one another, yet no one took the lead, no one showed leadership skills and everyone seemed to be waiting for direction and there was none. The Rangers were playing independently and only passed the puck to another team player when they knew the other guy was positioned strategically to get the shot. Each time a new team player for the NY Rangers came onto the ice and got the puck he had one purpose, get a shot and by the numbers, that is what they were focused on doing consistently. It was amazing to watch and wondered when the Leaf’s were going to wake up to the fact that their ‘team playing’ was actually crippling their overall effectiveness of winning their game.

Marketing & Business Takeaway? Focus on your end result and aim for it, continue to repeat the play until you get the goal. Do not rely on your team to make you successful, you might be waiting a long time, be the key player to yourself, if others like what you are doing, they will take action. Think independently but always remember that you have a support team to back you up who knows how to play the game with you when you show up. Never take business personally, understand the objective and aim for that outcome. Play smart.

Only in the 3rd period did the Leaf’s up their game, mimicking the direct actions that were creating stellar results and energy from their opposing team. But by then, it was too late. The Toronto team began the game waiting for someone or something to take a leadership role, show them how to lead and what to do. The NY team began with their strategy in mind, played hard from the get-go with their goal in mind, win the game by getting the puck into the net.

Does Your Team Win Or Loose? It's Up To You...Think Independently!

Does Your Team Win Or Loose? It's Up To You...Think Independently!

Moral of the Hockey Game via Marketing Tactics? Hockey is really not a man’s game, nor is marketing, it’s a strategy with winners and losers, there is no emotion to who wins or looses, what matters is how you play the game to win. Your winning prize: money, freedom, people you adore to work with (your team) and building an empire based on getting the shot=win the game, with pure laser sharp focus.

1. When you act independently only then can you create the results that you are aiming for.

2. Never ever build your team or your business based on needing another person to depend on you or any other person in the team.

3. Build off each persons expertise to create a super powerful one.

4. Internet Marketing is about claiming your freedom and learning what works so you can rock your business and bring it on home.

5. Before you go to bed at night, write down 3-5 things you want to aim to score at before 11:00am. Strategize what is the best course of action to take to get the quickest, most effective results and do it without any attachment to the outcome.

In conclusion: “Follow the leader” does not mean: don’t act or think independently, it means learn from what others do successfully then take it upon yourself to make it your own. Remember: Leaders are created and not born! This is why it is SO important to research who you are going to join in business and as a partner, it will affect your down line, your bottom line-your income and your mindset. Choose someone who has a strong Internet presence, who is creating results and who has a successful mindset that works in harmony with you and your core values.

Example: If you are 50 years old, recently laid off from a corporate job, searching desperately for an online position, do you think teaming up with a 21 year old who does affiliate marketing and has no personal interaction with their clients, when you have been trained and managing a sales team for 12 years is going to work for you? No, you will be searching for someone who is dynamic, team player yet works independently and has a track record of success.

Do your research, figure out who you are attracted to professionally and why…. then make sure to have a short conversation with the individual rather online via Skype, phone or by email. Google the person’s name and see what you come up with, if there are negative articles about that person, remember that in Internet Marketing it’s actually a Marketing tactic and might not be the truth. Find out for yourself, contact the person and make your own decisions based on your interaction and gut feeling.

Remember what you do, how you do it and who you do it with will make all the difference to your life and the lives of the people who you love. Never compromise as you will always end up loosing what you are truly are looking for.

Summation: When you rely on your group (family, business, friends), you rely on every single person and become dependent upon each others strengths and weaknesses. When you act independently and just go for it, the other players will see your actions creating results and this my friend will  leverage the teams playing field.

Ladies & Gents, get your game on, it’s time to play!

BP Oil Spill Tragedy, A $20 Billion Claim by Feinberg

BPoilspill 300x225 BP Oil Spill Tragedy, A $20 Billion Claim by FeinbergThe BP oil spill tragedy, a $20 billion dollar claim is being made by Feinberg that has taken place of f the shores of the Gulf Of Mexico.

It is the nation’s worst offshore oil spill. The well has spewed between 89.3 million and 176.4 million gallons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico, according to federal estimates. The Exxon Valdez spilled about 11 million gallons.

Local businesses have suffered greatly, peoples livelihood has crumbled, summer time vacationers are not around and life as locals have known it for over three generations is depleted and gone.

The BP oil spill claim of 20$ Billion dollars is going to be laid out by Feinberg, a six month compensation for the damage that the BP oil spill has claimed upon Alabama’s livelihood. One thing that is not evident is that it is going to happen over a 4 year period.

The direct relationship of the oil spill  has devastated the real estate market, the fishing industry and the lack of any financial influx from the travel industry, there is none. How can a environmental disaster like this happen in today’s age of technology and scientific advancements?

Why has the oil industry amongst many other industries run by big corp,  not penalized for it’s outlandish irresponsible relationship to the very fiber it depends on to produce  money-the Earth. There must be a legal mandate created that provides the Earth a clear pathway to uphold and respect her boundaries; the elements, that corporations must adhere to IF they are going to extract minerals and substances for the sake of stock holder shares, industry interests and for financial gain.

Why does BP not have in place a security measure for an oil leak? Wouldn’t this be the first thing a huge corporation would be liable against?  Where is the accountability to the Earth, it’s waters, it’s mammals and it’s people?  The Earth has a voice and we are that voice, we can speak for the fish, dolphins, whales, oceanic lifeforms that do not speak our language, it is an inherent birthright to all living beings that we are provided with the basis 5 elements to live and expand by procreation. IF these 5 elements go out of balance, all life is effected-every single organism on the planet refracts from the infrastructure in which it lives. Water is composes 80% of the Earth, 70% of our bodies and right now part of the 80% is being filled with toxins that will not allow the water to breath properly. The implications are devastating, just look to the people of the Amazon and what Chevron Texaco has left for the Ecuadorian people of the Shuar Tribe to clean up.

Recently I was asked what we can do about the oil spill, and this is what I received from Spirit:

“Look to see how much poison you personally put into your bodies every day, the food you ingest, the lack of pure waters, the poison from the pharmaceuticals you ingest, why is the result of seeing the oil into the waters any different from you do daily to your own body?”

Wow, true, very true. Indigenous peoples understand the relationship between water and our very own blood that coarses through our bodies as the same essence, it is the oil of the Earth that is our blood in our body. We use blood to fuel our life, pump blood to our hearts and brains, and the use of oil has been utilized as the same, a energy system to fuel our transportation. BUT, it is a toxic element that is corroding our entire planet.

I want to introduce you to a movie that will shape a new foundation on how you look at the world around you, in every single way. It is a film that is so educational I believe every child from the age of 6 and up should be shown this by their parents and that our very foundation and system of  how we educate, feed ourselves and interact with our environment is expressed through this incredible movie that took over 2 years to find. It is one of the best films to date on our Planet Earth.

Take the time to watch it, your heart will love you for it and the Earth:-0)

I’d love to hear your insights and comments!

Smart Dust: The Future World Of Computer Senses-Privacy?

smart_dust_nanotechnology

I can remember back in grade 6, I made sure that all the geeks were well loved, I had an affinity for their minds, I totally got how their inner world worked. I’m a total geek  and don’t mind sharing my geekdom (is there such a word?) with others, just don’t expect me to sit in front of a video an XBox and play some sci-fi explorer game that would take me 10 months to finish, not my thing.

BUT, start talking about nanotechnology,  super string theory, multi-verses, biomolecular  nanomechanics and the reductionist theory, well – I’m hooked for as long as your intellect can stand it!

Love to have your comments on the implecations of what you believe nanotechnology can do for our immennt near future. It’s already here as you can see and once nanotechnology gets dispersed it is an intellect that I believe humans are not yet intellectially enaged enought to understand the full impact it will have on our world. Think about the sub-species of how you walk down the street see and ant, and choose to squash it, not really thinking or believing you have just killed another life form.  You just do it because your bigger, it’s beneath you and you have to power to do so-without understanding the full ramificaations of a life lost. That ant was a mother, father, child to some other ant, it had siblings and it had order within it’s world. You decided you no longer wanted to see it as it was a pest in the moment-without fully thinking through what your actions have done. This is what nanotechnology is to the human species, all powerful advancement within our reach, yet the implicate order might be squashed like the ant who is unknown to the larger organism.
